Welcome to Countryside

Welcome to Countryside United Methodist Church. We invite you to join us throughout the week as we join together to worship, to study, to celebrate our faith, and to fellowship with one another.

Open Hearts. Open Doors. Open Minds.

Countryside is a congregation of about 200 members. In addition to worship, we have several study groups and fellowship groups. We work especially hard at being an inclusive faith community where people from all walks of life feel comfortable worshiping and working together. Our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to connect us to the past and catapults us into the future. In Christ, all things are possible.

Although the history of Countryside United Methodist Church spans roughly 40 years, Countryside evolved from a desire for a bridge between the peoples of Sidney and Philo. Methodist ministry began in the 1830s when Andrew Jackson was President of the United States. The legacy of Countryside includes former churches like Alice Chapel, Lost Grove, Pleasant Hill, and the Methodist Churches of Philo and Sidney. Throughout the years names and faces have changed. Yet the commitment of Countryside is based upon the love of God and our mission is to reach out and make disciples for Jesus Christ.
